I had a very frustrating start to my day today. I won't bore you with the details, but leave it to say that the court "for the rest of us" ain't really for us after all. There's simply no way to even get your case heard without taking dozens of days off work, paying fee after fee, and then paying someone to handle it for you.

It reminds me of old voting laws. If you're not this rich (high bar) then justice isn't available for you.

And seriously, most of you know that I'm no slouch. I make a pretty penny or two. But at the current time I'm dangerously nearing the point of having spent $4k to sue a contractor for stealing $4k from me. And the case still hasn't even been heard.

Thank gawd for mickibean who wandered in near the end and added good comic relief to the situation, rolling her eyes and mouthing obsceneties with the best of them...
