I forgot when I posted to the furcon community list that "journal default" means "furcon's default". And in one night, I got a dozen insulting, fairly hateful responses to a post warning people about a situation which could cost them $600 or more.

Many other responses were thoughtful and relevant, and I used those to improve the original post. But the Internet-era "I can be an asshole any time I want" attitude is apparently still alive and well.
