jorhett at 08:41am on 05/09/2008Last night I donated my digital mixer to PantheaCon and sold off a fabulous analog synth and sampler I've had over the years. Today I'm bringing everything that remains of my music gear to Starving Musician.
It feels really odd, selling off gear that ... well, at one point I thought was my only future. ( more musings behind the cut )
But it has been at least 10 years since I composed an entire piece, and like 14 years since I actually finished and recorded a piece... and worse yet, probably 7 years since I touched the gear at all. Obviously it doesn't call me like it used to.
I'm freeing up the space for bookshelves, and perhaps a whiteboard for random story ideas or something. I suspect/hope/pray I'm a better writer than I ever was a musician.
