diary of an Endorphin Junkie

Sadly, I don't have time to type and retype my journal entries into multiple sites. Honestly, I'd prefer to use Dreamwidth and just cross-post to LJ for the people I contact there, however LJ has a feature that Dreamwidth doesn't -- cross-posting to Facebook.

For reasons out of my control, the vast majority of people connect with me on Facebook. Facebook is the place where I must post to reach those people. Facebook is *NOT* where I like to keep my thoughts on record.

Livejournal gives me the ability to cross-post a sampler to Facebook such that Facebook friends can know I have posted and go read what I wrote on LJ.

Dreamwidth gives me no such option. Dreamwidth has indicated they have no desire to support Facebook. I feel strongly for, and agree with, their distaste. However this decision is not available to me. And thus, I must use LJ rather than Dreamwidth.

I will set up some of my blogs to cross-post to here so that if you are only friended with me on Dreamwidth you will get to see something of my life. Feel free to comment here, I'll see your comments and respond here too. But if you are following me on LJ I will totally understand if you unfriend or unfollow me here since it will be entirely redundant.

On the personal front, my physical shape seems to be getting better. I noticed recently that liquor no longer tastes bad to me. I was able to go out on a wine tasting/club pickup and enjoyed wine from every stop but one, and that one had been on my probably-should-drop list for a while now, so that's not a surprise.

I played an hour and a half of pickup hockey / passing / practice shots the other day without having to stop and wait for the pain to withdraw. Nova thinks that my focus on the game enables me to block out the pain, but it's still a significant improvement.

And I can touch my toes again. It's not that I'd grown too fat, but that sciatica had made it intensely painful. I can now touch both feet with my hands at the same time with straight knees without pain... that is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than I've been for so long that the batteries in my race bikes have expired from non-use in that time (e.g. at least two years)

So I am seeing improvement. Now if I can just find a way to walk a whole kilometer...

I ran out of KT tape yesterday, and managed to lose my fresh new roll of it. So I went off to Gretzky hour today without KT tape. Um, yeah, that wasn't a good idea. I was in a significant amount of pain.

So I have a fresh new roll of tape now, and KT tape has surpassed Duct tape as being the most important tape in the universe.
