After wrapping up the week's project today, I ran off to Costumes On Haight for some last minute BayCon supplies.
Then
cmdrsuzdal and I went to a press screening of X-Men: Last Stand. It was good fun, and better than most action movies, but it didn't really pack the punch of the previous two movies. Just a few less of the freeze-frame, say the dramatic punch line then cut to massive action shot would have made the movie significantly better. Outside of those scripting errors, however, it was enjoyable and satisfying.
If you're a Storm fan (er, Halle Berry as Storm fan) then you'll be quite happy with this movie. It's pretty much Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry tearing up the scenery. And for us locals, it's pretty much entirely shot in San Francisco.
No spoilers, but don't leave the theatre until after the credits have completely finished. That's all I'm going to say on the subject.
